Tiny prompt fill! aka, Things I Do Instead of Doing The Homework I'm Really Supposed to Be Doing. *cough* IMEANYOUDIDNOTHEARMESAYTHAT.

I don't remember you looking any better
But then again I don't remember you.

- John Mayer

There is a man in her dreams who knows her name.

Of course, it's not the first time. As a child, she would dream of the raggedy man returning, asking for little Amelia Pond, because of course he remembered her and didn't he say he'd be back in five minutes?

Her other dreams, back then, were different. Sometimes she was alone, surrounded by shadows, like there were people that should've been there but... weren't. It always left her somehow nervous upon waking up, and she never talked about those dreams.

The man in her dreams now is not the raggedy Doctor. No, the man in her dreams is wearing a Roman centurion's costume and smiling as he comes toward her, holding a drink, in a semi-dark room filled with a press of people dancing and laughing and shouting. She knows this man is different because he leans down to her ear and speaks softly. "I told you I'd find you!"

She laughs, because now she remembers a challenge. She'd been waiting for him to get to the party, had dared him to find her. Of course he had.

"I was waiting for you," she tells him, taking the drink in one hand and then reaching up to place the other along the back of his head, guiding him to her lips. "You look great, by the way."

"Just giving you your wish, madam,"
he smirks into the kiss, and his fingers play with the hem of her skirt. "Your Roman hero, that's me."

The TARDIS landing jolts her awake.

She doesn't know why her hand is outstretched, fingers grasping uselessly at the deserted other side of the bed.
